Valparaíso and Casablanca Wine in One Day
Can you see Valparaíso and taste Casablanca wine in one day from Santiago? Yes: how the day runs, how long you get in each place, and which tour fits.
Yes, you can see Valparaíso and taste Casablanca wine in one day from Santiago, and that is exactly what the most-reviewed day tours do: about ten hours door to door, with Viña del Mar in the morning, two to three hours in Valparaíso’s hills including lunch, and one vineyard tasting of about 40 to 45 minutes on the way back. What you cannot fit in is a serious winery day as well; for three or four estates, book a separate winery day.

How the day runs
Stampstour’s Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Casablanca Valley tour, the most-reviewed of these days, is a good template:
- Pickup from about 7:00 in central Santiago, Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura or Estación Central, with a coffee stop on the road west.
- Viña del Mar: the Flower Clock, the casino from the road, the Easter Island moai outside the Fonck Museum and Wulff Castle, about 10 minutes each.
- Caleta Portales, the fishing cove on the road into Valparaíso, for the sea lions and pelicans, about 20 minutes.
- Valparaíso: the El Peral funicular up from Plaza Sotomayor, then on foot through Paseo Yugoslavo, Cerro Alegre, Paseo Gervasoni, the piano staircase, Paseo Atkinson and the murals of Pasaje Gálvez, with an hour for lunch at a local restaurant.
- Casablanca: the wine tasting, about 40 minutes, on the way back.
- Back about 17:30 at your pickup point.

Is one day enough for Valparaíso?
For a first look, yes: the guided walks cover the two hills most visitors come for, Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción, with the funicular and the viewpoints. What a day tour cannot give you is the evening, when the hills light up over the bay, or time inside the museums: the combined days stop at Neruda’s house only on Turistik’s itinerary, and Best Trip Chile’s Emiliana day says plainly that museum interiors are not part of it. If you want those, stay a night on the coast; the where-to-stay guide compares the hills with Viña del Mar, and the tour that drops you at Valparaíso port saves the bus.
